Shikage joins Bank Windhoek as strategic communication specialist

Wetumwene Shikage has accumulated an impressive media and communications skillset with over five years of experience in print, digital, and television media, project management, copywriting, stakeholder engagement, event planning and public relations.
Wetumwene Shikage has been appointed as Bank Windhoek’s strategic communication specialist in the Marketing and Corporate Communication Services (MCCS) department, effective Friday, 1 March.
According to Bank Windhoek’s executive officer of marketing and corporate communication services, Jacquiline Pack, Shikage is a determined communicator with leadership skills and a passion for corporate communication.
Shikage will support the strategic communication manager in collating and writing content for internal and external communication in her new role.
Pack added that Shikage’s key role is to ensure that communication messaging is of a high standard, accurate, engaging and aligned with the bank’s strategy.
“She will use internal tools and channels to maximise Bank Windhoek’s internal communication effectiveness and ensure consistent messaging, imagery and identity. She will achieve this approach by working closely with stakeholders to execute Bank Windhoek’s internal communication efforts,” said Pack.
Skilled and experienced
Shikage has over five years of experience compiling print and digital media content for the media industry. Her experience includes television production, presenting video and audio editing, and social media management for Namibia Media Holdings (NMH).
Her responsibilities included writing community-based and corporate stories for NMH, which were published in their daily newspapers.
“Her skillset also includes project management, copywriting, stakeholder engagement, event planning and public relations. She has worked with corporate and youth brands on projects that aim to assist Namibian youth in determining and defining their career choices and interests,” said Pack.
Shikage is in her final year at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), working towards a bachelor’s degree in English and Linguistics. “We are delighted to have Wetumwene with us. I wish her all the best as she starts her Bank Windhoek journey,” Pack concluded.
